Persian Or Exotic, What’s The Difference?

The Persian is an ideal breed that produces a quiet, sweet, and loyal companion. The traditional long-hair and a plush short coat, the Persian, comes in two coat lengths. The short-coated variety was formerly known as the “Exotic Shorthair” or “Exotic.” It isn’t uncommon to have kittens of both coat types in the same litter.
Whatever the coat length, they are a fantastic breed! Not much seems to disturb them. In general, they are incredibly affectionate with their humans. It is rarely noisy. It isn’t uncommon for them to jump up into your lap to curl up for a nap. Some even perch on your shoulder while you browse the internet or watch TV.
Due to their thick coats, they tend to prefer cooler places.
Neither coat variety should ever be left outdoors. Even the Exotic with its shorter plush coat needs regular grooming to avoid matting. However, both types are just as playful as any other breed.
Males are, in general, more affectionate than females. Conversely, females can be more reserved. In addition, Persians of both coat types mature later than most other breeds. However, since all pets should be spayed and neutered, problems related to sexual behavior such as spraying should never be a problem.
Short-haired Kittens exhibit the same level of activity as do their long-haired counterparts. Some breeders insist that the Exotic kittens do everything first. They open their eyes, climb out of the box, start eating before their long-haired siblings.

The easygoing nature of the Persian allows it to fit into your home at any age. They stay playful as adults and bring pleasure for many years. All things considered, the traditional Persian or short-haired Exotic is a beautiful addition to any family. What more could you ask for with their adorable expressions, big round eyes, and loving personalities? This breed really is the “best of two worlds.”
